WORD OF ABUNDANT LIFE CHRISTIAN CENTER

Word of Abundant Life Ministries, International (Word of Abundant Life Christian Center) came to life on June 17, 1997 with the start of a small Bible Study Group. Word of Abundant Life Christian Center began holding services at Glendale Community Center, with 35 people in attendance at the first Sunday morning services on June 29, 1997.

In April of 1998, because of the growth of the ministry, Word of Abundant Life Christian Center moved into a new facility located at 6811 W. Peoria, Peoria, Arizona 85345. With the new facility, Word of Abundant Life Christian Center was able to open a Nursery and added more children's classes to its Children's Church.

After two years of growth both in quantity and quality we moved to our present location at 6849 W. Indian School in Phoenix. We have grown steadily since 1997 when there were 15 members and we had Worship Services in a rented room of about 700 square feet. We were amazed at how in less than 3 years God had allowed us to purchase an 18,000 square feet facility with over 5 acres (valued at $1.2 million dollars). We were also given additional land donated to the ministry in California and Africa. We presently have over 800 members and still growing. Praise the Lord!

As a ministry we have successful reached beyond our local area; we have members from Phoenix, Glendale, Avondale, Peoria, Litchfield, Sun City, Surprise, Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Laveen and Ahwatukee. We have also successfully crossed ethnic lines. We presently have in our congregation African Americans, European Americans, Hispanics, Africans, Asians, and Native Americans. This has promoted us to develop over 80 multifaceted ministries to meet the spiritually, mentally, socially, and physically needs of every individual regardless of age, gender, race or any other differences. Our vision is to Reach All, Teach All and Disciple All for the Kingdom of God!

Word of Abundant Life Christian Center is an IRS Section 5013c non-profit corporation with its main office located at 6849 W. Indian School Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85033. Word of Abundant Life Christian Center was organized and incorporated in June 1997 to provide religious services, educational and ministry to its membership and the general public.

WOALCC has a diversity of ministries to meet the needs (spiritually, mentally, socially, and physically) of every individual regardless of age, gender, race or any other differences. We seek to meet these needs thorough our many auxiliaries, departments, schools and ministries (most are active and some are still under development). Some of the services we provide are: Computer Resource Training and Labs, and other Community Development Programs. Some of the other services we provide are: Youth Development, Children’s Development, Family Enrichment, Single Ministry, Financing/Budgeting, Career Enrichment, Health Enrichment, Computer Training, Tutoring and Mentoring Ministry, Men Fellowship Ministry, Women Fellowship Ministry, Prison and Hospital Ministries, and other Community Development Initiatives. Others include establishing a Discovery Center; a Development Center; a Resource Center, a Victory Center, a Safe Haven Center, a Christian School (K-12); a Production Ministry; and a Publications Ministry and a School of Ministry and School of Music.

In addition we are operate Abundant Love, our Child Development Center licensed with the State of Arizona for childcare services (capacity 110) from infant to 12 years of age for the local community and our church membership. We provided last year over 3,000 hours of Child Development Services for the local and church community, which equates to over 165,000 hours of service (55 children). We also networked with Arizona Dept of Education to implement a Child Food Care Program (Hot Meals) and provided over 24,000 meals for the children. Our goals are designed to reach out and serve the particular needs of the community.

We have partnered with Western Power Administration for the acquisition of over 30 computers which are now in use has moved us even closer to our goal of community development. We also partnered with DeVry Institute of Technology located in Phoenix, Arizona to head up a project with their Networking students, which gave them hands on experience with planning, researching, and building a Local Area Network (LAN) for WOALCC. This project was a success and now we are endeavoring to move ahead even further.

In January 2003 Word of Abundant Life Christian Center graced the airwaves with a Sunday Radio Broadcast “Living the Abundant Life” on 1280AM KXEG which consequently expanded into a daily Radio Broadcast, Monday through Friday.

In March of 2006 God placed it upon Pastor Derone Robinsons’ heart to extend the ministries Missions Support to Africa. Word of Abundant Life Christian Center initiated a food program to the “New Generation” Primary School in Mbale, Uganda East Africa, providing a balanced breakfast for more than 120 children in which 80 percent are orphans as well as plant the seed of Financial Aid Support to several Ugandan Pastors. The financial assistance to these Pastors in Africa has allowed them to focus on their Vision and Assignment from God and become more effective in Preaching the Gospel to their local assembly and the world. Word Abundant Life Christian Center has also partnered with these Pastors to financially support the Building Fund Project and Construction of New Generation Church and Primary School and Living Waters Christian Center in Mbale, Uganda.

In 2007, in conception of the Vision Theme “Reaching All, Teaching All, and Discipling All for the Kingdom of God”, was birth Word of Abundant Life School of Ministry Resource Center an Accredited Bible College under Vision International Education Network which has broadened their teaching in more than 140 Countries. Word of Abundant Life School of Ministry Resource Center is teaching Men and Women not only to learn the Word of God at a higher level, but also teaching them to “Invest in their Destiny”.

In June of 2009, God opened another door and "Living the Abundant Life" broadcast expanded beyond the radio airwaves unto the TV media. One could now hear and see the powerful and practical teachings of Pastor Derone every Sunday morning at 6:00 a.m. on AZ-TV 7/cable 13 (Direct TV & Dish Network satellite; Cox and Qwest cable TV).

Pastor Derone and Brenda Robinson have been married for 31 years. They have four grown children Cedric (Bobette), Terence (Kim), Sharonda (Patrick) and Micah (Destinee) and 15 grandchildren. They have been in ministry for over 29 years, having traveled and ministered extensively to include the Spain, Italy, Russia, Saudia Arabia and the U.S. In addition, they also have pioneered and pastured churches in England and Germany, Pastor Derone and Brenda under the spiritual leadership and covering of Dr. Myles Munroe of Bahamas Faith Ministries. They both have inspired to further their own personal growth through higher education (Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Associate of Arts in Theology, respectively). They are also Premier Ambassador Members in the International Third World Leaders Association. There are many who have influenced their passion and love for God and His people. Some who have past on to glory (Pastor Willie Holly), one their fathers in the Lord who taught them how to pastor and love the people of God. Others who are still active in the ministry, Apostle Johnnie Smith, Elder Nate Crawford, Pastor Leon Brown who were all the first spiritual fathers whom they had the honor of sitting under their tutelage. There are others who through mentorship (Dr. Myles Munroe, Evangelist Olivia Mitchell, Minister Judy Jacobs, and Pastor Russell Freeman), friendship and all of their constituents in the ministry who were instrumental in providing a godly influence in their lives. And of course the family of Word of Abundant Life in which they stated they would be forever grateful and indebted. Pastor Robinson stated, “The last ten years have been challenging and yet rewarding. And may our history (as someone stated) remain “His Story” and our future reflect our vision of the continuous passion to impact lives that will change homes, communities and the world for the Kingdom of God.
